The Economic and Community Development Department works with local governments, communities and organizations throughout the Upper Cumberland to help develop the economic potential of the region.  The members of the department work together as a team to help communities address opportunities for development, while providing leadership and project administration in order to best utilize these opportunities.  The department seeks innovative funding sources for regional initiatives and encourages cooperation and partnerships between various regional entities in order to better serve the Upper Cumberland.
The Economic and Community Development Department provides technical assistance in the development of grant programs, oversight of regulatory compliance and general project planning.
The work of the ECD team is done in keeping with the overall mission of the Upper Cumberland Development District, which is to improve the quality of life for the citizens of the region.
