LEGAL ASSISTANCE

The legal assistance program utilizes senior citizen centers as contact points in each of the Upper Cumberland counties of Tennessee. Ben Kilgrow, an attorney, provides legal assistance in specified areas of law, giving priority to economically disadvantaged older persons.

Services include telephone consultation, individual conferences, community education and training, case preparation, and court appearances.

OMBUDSMAN

The District Long Term Care Ombudsman Program advocates on behalf of residents of long-term care facilities. The Ombudsman seeks to obtain solutions and resolve problems on behalf of the residents. The Ombudsman works with many agencies and may be able to resolve questions or concerns that involve state and federal agencies serving residents of long-term care facilities.
