STATE HEALTH INSURANCE ASSISTANCE PROGRAM (SHIP)

The State Health Insurance Assistance Program (SHIP) provides free and objective counseling to all Medicare beneficiaries and their caregivers who reside in the Upper Cumberland. Counseling topics include Medicare benefits, Medicare supplements, Medicaid and extra help assistance, long-term care insurance, prescription drug assistance and other related health insurance benefits and rights. SHIP actively recruits volunteer professionals to assist beneficiaries locally within their county. SHIP is funded by Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and is administered locally through the Upper Cumberland Development District.
