Solid Waste Program The Upper Cumberland Development District assists communities with recycling equipment, Material Recovery Facility, Planning Assistance and Convenience Center grant applications through a contract with the Department of Environment and Conservation. Additionally, communities are provided environmental assistance and education related to subjects such as:  Composting  Flood Control  Solid Waste Planning  Environmental Education  Household Hazardous Waste  Batteries  Used Tires  Used Oil  Recycling  Landfills The Upper Cumberland Development District also provides assistance for local jurisdictions in filing of Solid Waste Reports to the Department of Environment and Conservation. The UCDD assists in planning and implementation of Solid Waste and Recycling plans and goals for each community.
